Kenzi Ishioka is a male sixth-grade student in Japan with ochre hair and black eyes. He squats in an abandoned house near his school with two companions, Ogawa and an unnamed boy, using it as a base for purported ghost hunts. Kenzi defends this territory violently, his go-to response against anyone trying to take over the space. Confronted intellectually rather than physically, he is consistently outmatched. This limitation leads to a humiliating defeat when Mitsuru Ashikawa bests him verbally in front of their entire class. A teacher's intervention stops Kenzi from retaliating physically against Mitsuru right then. However, Kenzi does not forget the humiliation and burns for payback later.
