Description
Komokuten is one of the Four Heavenly Kings, divine antagonists opposing Getter Rays and Getter Robo technology within the New Getter Robo series. This quartet manipulates the Oni and the historical figure Abe no Seimei to eradicate the Getter Robo threat.
Serving as the group's strategist, Komokuten wields a distinctive picture scroll as both weapon and tactical instrument. Combat engagements involve inscribing incantations onto the scroll for swift deployment as offensive or control mechanisms, favoring this mystical approach over direct physical confrontation unlike fellow Kings such as Zochoten or Jikokuten.
Komokuten's design and thematic role draw inspiration from Buddhist and Hindu mythology, referencing deities traditionally associated with wisdom and strategic warfare. Komokuten and the other Heavenly Kings manifest late in the conflict, directly intervening only after their proxies—the Oni hordes and Abe no Seimei—fail to destroy Getter Robo, marking the final escalation of antagonistic forces.
