Description
Keita Kawahira, a descendant of the Kawahira clan specializing in contracting spiritual inukami to fight supernatural threats, was initially considered a failure by his family due to his lax attitude and inability to form an inukami contract, leading to his status as an outcast. This changed when the powerful and unconventional inukami Yoko chose him as her partner despite his reputation.

Standing 174 cm tall and weighing 64 kg, Keita exhibits perverted tendencies, frequently pursuing romantic relationships with other women. These actions often result in Yoko teleporting him naked into public spaces, earning him the nickname "Ra-ou" (Naked King) among local perverts. Despite these flaws, his underlying kindness, comparable to his cousin Kaoru, and his genuine care for Yoko are noted, though he struggles to express it openly.

His combat abilities include crafting magical talismans from rubber, shaped like frogs, which he uses for ranged attacks powerful enough to injure entities like a Grim Reaper. He is also proficient in Chinese martial arts, specifically xingyiquan, enabling him to defeat opponents like a former wrestler and hold his own against supernatural beings such as shinigami. His deep fondness for frogs stems from his childhood friendship with Hakusan Meikun, a giant talking frog he protected from bullies.

Keita's relationship with Yoko forms a core aspect of his development. Their contract requires him to wear a dog collar symbolizing his vows of loyalty. Initially viewing her primarily as an exorcism partner, he dismissed her romantic advances due to a fear of interspecies reproduction. He later discovered and accepted her secret identity as a kitsune rather than a true inukami, affirming this did not change their bond. This acceptance deepened their connection, culminating in mutual declarations of love during the series' climax.

Throughout various story arcs, Keita evolves from a comedic, irresponsible figure into a more resolute protector. Confronting serious threats like the emotion-consuming entity Jesei or the shinigami "Sea of Violence," he demonstrates unwavering determination and tactical ingenuity, employing unorthodox methods such as concealing explosive frogs in his clothing. His combat pragmatism and willingness to collaborate with unlikely allies, including mobilizing local perverts to defeat a giant mecha, highlight his growth. He solidified his partnership with Yoko through a decisive kiss in their final battle.

In expanded narratives, Keita joins a larger hero team, gaining abilities like absolute immortality, pain tolerance, and immunity to viruses after visiting the "Sea of Fragments." His perverse antics persist, leading to frequent confrontations with other heroes who attempt to educate him through physical discipline.
