Description
Jakurai Jinguji leads the Shinjuku Division rap group Matenro. Standing 195 cm tall with a lean build and multicolored hair, he typically wears a lab coat reflecting his medical profession. His background includes serving as a professional assassin under the alias "ill-DOC" during World War III, primarily eliminating terrorists. He abandoned this path to atone through medicine, becoming a renowned doctor who provides affordable healthcare.
He co-founded the legendary rap crew The Dirty Dawg alongside Ichiro Yamada, Samatoki Aohitsugi, and Ramuda Amemura. After Chuohku's interference disbanded the crew, tensions with Ramuda evolved into an adversarial relationship. Jakurai formed Matenro with Hifumi Izanami and Doppo Kannonzaka, leveraging their unconventional personalities, and led them to victory in the first Division Rap Battle.
His rap ability, "Medication," focuses on healing and rejuvenation instead of combat, mirroring his dedication to saving lives. This power stems from his unique "flow" and demands careful voice maintenance. Professionally, he acts as a parental figure to his assistant Yotsutsuji, whom he took in after Yotsutsuji's parents died in a car crash. Chuohku's offer to aid Yotsutsuji's recovery in exchange for Jakurai's cooperation with their "True Hypnosis Mic" plans creates a dilemma: aiding one individual or protecting countless innocent lives.
Personality-wise, he maintains a calm, polite demeanor, adhering to the principle that "the sole meaning of life is to serve humanity." He exhibits a fondness for unconventional individuals, initially including Ramuda before their fallout. Despite his pacifism, he engages in rap battles against former allies when necessary. He meditates regularly, enjoys fishing—often inviting Hifumi—and becomes aggressively intoxicated from minimal alcohol due to high sensitivity.
Throughout his development, he participates in temporary reunions of The Dirty Dawg during critical conflicts like battling the Secret Aliens. His story intertwines with Chuohku's manipulations and his unwavering commitment to healing others.
