Description
Michael Gedōin researches for the Illuminati, specializing in developing an immortality elixir through unethical experimentation. He possesses a short stature, rotund build, curly blond hair, blue eyes, and distinctive round reading glasses. He typically wears a dark Illuminati-issued jacket with a lab coat over it, often keeping his identification card in the breast pocket.

Years prior to current events, Gedōin visited the Inari Shrine alongside associate Maria Yoshida to recruit young Izumo Kamiki. When Izumo later contacted the Illuminati during her mother Tamamo’s demonic possession, Gedōin captured Tamamo and imprisoned both Izumo and her younger sister Tsukumo. He subjected Tamamo to extensive experiments to force demonic possession and extract immortality properties. As Tamamo’s body deteriorated, he planned to shift experimentation to Tsukumo. Discovering Yoshida had sent Tsukumo to an adoption agency to protect her, Gedōin poisoned Yoshida with a prototype elixir inducing fatal necrosis as punishment.

Gedōin later informed Izumo that Tamamo was no longer useful and declared his intent to experiment on her instead, reneging on their agreement requiring her to become an exorcist first. He justified this by claiming his "genius" developed a method to forcibly implant demons without traditional rituals. He manipulated Izumo by threatening to target Tsukumo if she refused, extorting her compliance through her protective instincts.

His experiments extended beyond the Kamiki family. He regularly drugged tourists in the Inari area to create addicted test subjects, transforming failed experiments into zombie-like creatures under his control. When Rin Okumura and others infiltrated his facility to rescue Izumo, Gedōin welcomed them as "unsightly cockroaches" and unleashed his zombie army while monitoring their struggles. He openly expressed hatred for humanity, comparing human use of animals in research to his own actions and declaring human experimentation ethically justified.

During Izumo’s forced merger with the Nine-Tails demon, Gedōin utilized a "Savior Mask" artifact designed to bind demons to human hosts regardless of compatibility. When the procedure was interrupted by Rin and Tamamo sacrificed herself to reabsorb the demon, Gedōin activated a backup Savior Mask on himself. This transformed him into a demonic Necrophage. After defeat in this form, he was apprehended but later executed by Lucifer, who dismissed Gedōin’s claims of loyalty and burned his body to ash as punishment for failures and unsanctioned cruelty.

Gedōin’s personality demonstrated arrogance, sadism, and manipulativeness. He referred to himself as a "genius," took pleasure in others' suffering, and employed psychological tactics like extortion to achieve goals. His primary motivation centered on gaining recognition from his idol, Lucifer, driving his relentless pursuit of the immortality elixir regardless of human cost.
