Description
Princess Teronna Aqua Vega of the Vegan Empire is the older twin sister of Rubina and a formidable Starker Knight. Her enhanced physical conditioning, psychic abilities like telekinesis, and mastery of swordsmanship and robot piloting are showcased while commanding her machine, the Aquadizer. She became a Starker Knight driven by duty and a deep desire to protect Rubina.
Before Fleed's destruction, Teronna and Rubina worked to forge ties with Fleed's royal family. Teronna developed unrequited feelings for Duke Fleed, but suppressed them upon acknowledging his heart belonged to Rubina. She fostered camaraderie with Duke through training duels, ultimately approving his union with Rubina after he defeated her in a symbolic contest for her sister's hand.
During the crisis on Fleed, Cassado murdered Duke's parents and tried to seize Grendizer. Duke pursued Cassado but lost control of Grendizer due to a Starker berserk state, causing widespread destruction. Teronna intervened in her Aquadizer, attempting to reason with Duke and rescuing Rubina from an attack amidst the chaos. Duke mistakenly believed he had endangered Rubina. Witnessing Grendizer's rampage and Fleed's devastation convinced Teronna that Duke had betrayed the planet and nearly killed her sister.
Believing Duke guilty, Teronna pursued him to Earth alongside Rubina, commanding Vegan forces against the planet. Duke tried to explain his innocence during an initial confrontation, but Cassado's interference solidified Teronna's belief in his treachery. She grew suspicious of Rubina's loyalties and secretly followed her on a reconnaissance mission to Earth. Observing Rubina and Duke converse, Teronna confronted Duke, dismissing his account of Fleed's destruction as lies and challenging him to another duel. Vegan soldiers interrupted the encounter, forcing a retreat.
Her unresolved emotions led Teronna to recklessly engage Duke during a major Vegan assault on the Photon Power Laboratory. Their duel crashed Grendizer and Aquadizer onto Okami Island. Thrown from her cockpit, Teronna was rescued from Cassado's attack by Duke, and they retreated into a cave. Recovering there, Teronna shared past memories with Duke, including his confession of love for Rubina. They later collaborated to counter Cassado, who had hijacked Grendizer, resulting in Cassado's demise.
Back in Vegan territory, Teronna admitted believing in Duke's innocence but insisted on maintaining his traitor status for the Empire's benefit, conflicting with Rubina's determination to clear his name. Teronna later intercepted Rubina's secret marriage proposal to Duke and, after deliberation, permitted its delivery without Rubina's knowledge. On the planned wedding day, Teronna confronted Rubina, questioned her willingness to abandon home and duty, and rendered her unconscious. Teronna then impersonated Rubina, married Duke herself, and completed the ritual before revealing her identity. She tearfully accused Duke of betrayal for failing to distinguish between the sisters and forbade him from contacting Rubina again.
As conflict escalated between Earth and the Vegan Empire, Teronna remained torn between her imperial duty and familial bonds. Gandal intensified attacks on Earth, demanding Duke's surrender and turning public opinion against him, while Rubina continued to advocate for Duke. Teronna's position became defined by this internal conflict between responsibility and her sister's defiance.
