Description
Mira Gotokuji is the landlady of Astro-sou boarding house, outwardly projecting a gentle, kind, and polite demeanor with a consistently positive attitude. This facade persists despite her significant unfamiliarity with everyday Earth life. Her notoriously poor cooking produces meals deemed inedible or dangerous, leading the Astro-sou residents to insist she hire a professional chef. This results in Takumi Miyasaki joining the household after he mistakes her advertisement for a restaurant position.

Mira's true origin is the planet Widi (or Mibo), where she serves as crown princess and heir to the throne. Her mother, Queen Adara, previously visited Earth and fell in love with a human man named Tasuke, making Mira half-human. She arrived on Earth with a mission: to locate a specific "key" hidden within Astro-sou, essential to legitimizing her claim to the throne. The key's exact nature and appearance remain unknown to her, driving her daily searches of the building.

Her companion Naosuke appears to be her pet dog but is actually an alien bodyguard from Widi, sworn to protect her for life. Their relationship carries the underlying tension of his species naturally outliving hers. Mira initially lacks basic knowledge of Earth's popular culture and technology, and her everyday behaviors often betray her extraterrestrial origins and royal upbringing.

Mira develops a strong bond with Takumi, valuing both his culinary skills and personal qualities. She begins learning cooking from him, gradually improving her abilities. Her relationships extend to the other Astro-sou residents, who become important as she navigates human interactions. These connections prompt her to reflect on her own aspirations, previously undefined due to her sheltered existence. Her focus broadens from solely finding the key to personal growth and understanding desires beyond royal duty.

Learning about her half-human heritage through her father Tasuke adds complexity to her identity and Earth connection. Her mission faces challenges from rival alien factions like the Goshians, also seeking the key. Figures from her past, such as childhood friend Shoin Ginger, appear; his claim of their engagement is later clarified as a childhood jest. These events contribute to her evolving perspective on duty and personal choice.

Ultimately, she decides to remain on Earth, continuing her life at Astro-sou while maintaining ties to her planetary responsibilities, integrating her human experiences with her royal identity.
