Description
Takumi Miyasaka, 25, lost his position as a chef at a major hotel restaurant after it closed, despite having won a new chef contest and appearing in a magazine for his skills. Responding to a job ad expecting restaurant work, he instead discovered the role was live-in cook at Astro Lodge, a boarding house focused on breakfast. He accepted the position upon meeting landlady Mira Gotokuji and developing romantic feelings for her, moving into Room 5 on the second floor.

His main duty involves preparing daily meals for the residents, including traditional Japanese breakfasts, English breakfasts, and soup curry, typically served with rice and miso soup. He finds deep satisfaction when others enjoy his food, though he sometimes misinterprets situations, like initially confusing Mira's alien heritage for widowhood due to a linguistic similarity. When confused or sad, he processes these emotions by buying large amounts of ingredients like fish or squid and drying them in the garden. He displays jealousy, particularly concerning Shoin Ginger, Mira's self-proclaimed fiancé.

His relationships extend beyond Mira; he previously worked with Aoi Uemachi but didn't recognize her upon reuniting at Astro Lodge. After learning Mira is secretly the crown princess of Planet Widi, needing to find a "key" to return home, he commits to aiding her search while hiding her origins from others. His cooking inadvertently becomes part of this quest when antagonists mistake a lunchbox he made for Ren as containing the key, sparking confrontations with enemy forces. Despite these unusual events, he remains dedicated to supporting Mira's mission amidst the boarding house's eccentric community.
