Description
Prince Kamehame, a prince from Planet Coconuts, journeyed to Earth and became the inaugural Hawaii Heavyweight Champion. He successfully defended his title 999 times, earning monikers like "Hawaii's Big Star" and "God of the Hawaiian Chōjin World." His appearance features a mahiole-like crest on his head, tanned skin, and a golden eagle tattoo on his chest; he sports a black beard in the manga and a white beard in anime adaptations.
In Hawaii, he forged a close friendship with Doctor Bombe. Contemplating retirement, Kamehame considered Bombe's suggestion of Jesse Maivia as a successor. After an initial sparring session where Kamehame deemed Maivia inexperienced, he later accepted Maivia's championship challenge. Maivia ended Kamehame's 999-match winning streak with a Tombstone Piledriver, claiming the Hawaiian Championship. Kamehame subsequently served as Maivia's assistant until Kinnikuman arrived following his Chojin Olympics victory.
Kamehame became Kinnikuman's primary mentor after a brief sparring match, imparting his combat techniques. He specifically taught Kinnikuman the 48 Killer Techniques, which proved vital in Kinnikuman's eventual victory over Maivia. Afterwards, Kamehame and Maivia collaborated to restore Hawaii as a hub for Chojin wrestling.
Partnering as "Kinnikuman Great" with Kinnikuman during the Dream Chojin Tag arc, they formed the Muscle Brothers tag team. Together, they defeated the 4D Killer Combo using combined moves like Muscle Docking. However, while masked as Kinnikuman Great in a later match, Sunshine killed Kamehame using the Cursed Roller. Before dying, he instructed Terryman to assume the Kinnikuman Great identity and continue utilizing his techniques.
His ashes were scattered at sea near the West Izu Islands. During the Survivor Match arc, Omegaman Dexia's Omega Metamorphosis technique allowed Kamehame's spirit to temporarily possess Dexia's body. In this form, he taught Kinnikuman the remaining 52 Submissions techniques, enabling Kinnikuman's victory over Omegaman with the Muscle Spark.
Years later, Kamehame's spirit reappeared during the training of Mantaro Kinniku, Kinnikuman's son. Constructing a "Kamehame Wooden Puzzle" from uprooted trees, he trained Mantaro for the Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament semifinals, a manifestation attributed to residual bone fragments from his scattered ashes.
His known techniques include the Back Flip, Martial Arts Kick, Rolling Savate Kick, and Somersault Kick. His comprehensive fighting system, Kamehame's 100 Killer Techniques, comprises the 48 Killer Techniques (focused on striking and finishing moves) and the 52 Submissions (joint locks and grappling techniques). His students included Kinnikuman, Mantaro Kinniku, and Chaos Avenir.
