Description
Mayu Nekoyashiki, a shy second-year middle school student in Animal Town, transforms into Cure Lillian, a core Pretty Cure member. Despite longing for friends, she struggles to initiate social interactions. Her family runs a Pretty Holic cosmetics branch where her cat Yuki serves as mascot.

Recently moved to Animal Town, Mayu battles social anxiety rooted in past experiences. A formative childhood trip to a snowy village led her to discover the wary stray cat Yuki in an abandoned house. Mayu patiently earned Yuki's trust through persistent kindness, adopting her. Yuki became Mayu's crucial emotional support. Before moving, a significant friendship with Yuma ended when Mayu's intense focus on handcrafting a handkerchief gift caused her to unintentionally ignore Yuma's communication attempts, deepening Mayu's reluctance to connect.

Gradual interactions with Iroha Inukai and Komugi in Animal Town fostered Mayu's growing confidence, paving her path to becoming Cure Lillian. This transformation ignited during a conflict involving Yuki, who gained human form as Cure Nyammy. When Cure Nyammy tried isolating Mayu from potential hurt by discouraging friendships, Mayu confronted her. Declaring her resolve to protect Yuki resonated with the Mirror Stone, transforming Mayu's compact mirror into the Shiny Cats Pact and enabling her Cure Lillian transformation. Her catchphrase "Kowakunai!" ("I'm not scared!") embodies her journey toward courage.

As Cure Lillian, she wields the Amity Ribbon Tambourine alongside Cure Nyammy, forming the Nyanderful Pretty Cure duo until the full team unites. Her combat style favors peaceful resolution, often calming corrupted animals non-aggressively. She later gains the Diamond Ribbon Castle weapon, enabling Diamond Ribbon Styles transformations for purification.

Mayu demonstrates growth through increasing bravery in social situations and protective instincts. She mediates group conflicts, like encouraging Satoru Toyama to confess to Iroha. Her protective nature surfaces when she stubbornly clings to a rampaging sea turtle Garugaru to soothe it. She maintains compassion towards antagonists, attempting connection with the wolf spirit Zakuro via shared knitting interests despite initial rejection. Her hobbies include knitting and handicrafts, skills used to create Yuki's accessories and Pretty Holic merchandise. She also runs an animal-themed CureTuber channel featuring Yuki.

Thematic elements tie into her identity: her civilian name "Mayu" (繭, meaning "cocoon") and Cure name "Lillian" (referencing knitting's "lily yarn") reflect her crafting motif and connection to cats' yarn play. Her journey symbolizes breaking free from self-imposed isolation, echoed in her transformation affirmations of "Kowakunai".
