Description
QJ hails from the Kingdom of Mechanics and serves among the elite Nine Soldiers, protectors against the apocalyptic Void. His mechanical form echoes ancient statues, featuring a green turbine-like structure on his head with handle-like protrusions and a red mouth, accented by narrow golden eyes. Functionally, his head emits beams or activates a shining sword in combat, though rarely.

Primarily an information analyst, QJ specializes in environmental analysis, predicting Void appearances, and weather forecasting—notoriously prone to error. He considers himself the "brains" of the Nine Soldiers but frequently enters involuntary sleep mode during critical moments, earning him an unreliable reputation from allies like Unio. Despite this, his nature is considerate, gentle, and kind-hearted. Notably, he experienced his first childhood crush at age five on a neighbor's grass-cutting machine.

QJ's path shifts when Natsuko Hirose, an outsider with knowledge of their story's original tragic ending, confides solely in him about the world's inevitable fate. They mutually pledge to change their destiny. This commitment culminates in a pivotal sacrifice: during a catastrophic Void attack where Natsuko falters, QJ charges into a flying Void fortress and self-destructs to save his comrades, affirming his belief in altering their future.

Following his sacrifice, the elf Memmeln, aided by Meg and Sally, uses forbidden magic to resurrect QJ. The ritual succeeds, restoring QJ, but costs Meg and Sally their lives. Revived, QJ supports Natsuko in the final battle against the Ultimate Void, illuminating her with his head-beam as she draws in darkness, enabling her to recreate the world for a hopeful ending. In this restored world, QJ is fully revived alongside other deceased Nine Soldiers members. He later appears in the real world alongside Luke, Unio, and Memmeln.

Throughout, QJ maintains respectful bonds with most team members, especially Natsuko and Memmeln. His dynamic with Unio remains strained due to perceived unreliability, despite Unio's survival being a direct result of QJ's sacrifice. QJ's optimism and analytical skills, though occasionally flawed, consistently bolster the group's resilience.
