Description
Natsuko Hirose is a prodigious animator and director who launched her career straight out of high school, swiftly gaining acclaim for her debut work "Sukeban Magical Girl Dark Academy." Her relentless dedication to perfecting her craft caused her to neglect personal connections and romantic experiences, culminating in paralyzing creative block when tasked with directing the romantic comedy "HATSUKOI: First Love." During this struggle, accidental consumption of expired clams led to fatal food poisoning, transporting her into the universe of "A Tale of Perishing"—her cherished childhood film that originally sparked her animation passion.

Awakening in a desert within this realm, she faced assault by monstrous Voids before rescue by the Nine Soldiers. She wields a magical animator's pegbar that conjures a work desk, enabling her to animate original drawings into fleeting physical reality. This power activates solely in dire emergencies, constrained by critical limitations: each sketch must be unique and unrepeatable, she remains defenseless while drawing, her manifestations vanish swiftly, and every use plunges her into a three-day coma. Moreover, Voids replicate her creations, escalating threats against her and the Nine Soldiers.

Socially withdrawn and distrustful, Natsuko historically operated alone, believing self-reliance ensured efficiency. She concealed her face behind uncut long hair—a vow tied to completing her film’s storyboard—and wore a signature purple hoodie. Her blunt honesty and genre-savvy critiques frequently ignited clashes, particularly with Unio, a unicorn-like soldier of the Nine, and Luke, their leader. Despite her guarded nature, she harbored compassion for vulnerable groups like orphans and exhibited a "big eater" trait, radiating joy during meals.

Her evolution unfolded through the Nine Soldiers' influence. Initially an outcast, she gradually embraced reliance on others, symbolized by styling her hair into a bun instead of hiding her face. She developed romantic feelings for Luke, contrasting her prior emotional inexperience. Confronting the film’s nihilistic prophecy, she harnessed her animation skills to alter its tragic trajectory: preventing Unio’s sacrificial death, redirecting Memmeln’s cult-aligned motives via her creation "Sir Exister," and reviving fallen characters. In the climax, as the Ultimate Void consumed reality, she overcame despair by drawing a new conclusion to the film, restoring all life and fulfilling the theme of "redoing everything." Returning to the real world, she completed "First Love" to critical triumph. The story closed with her encountering Luke and the Nine Soldiers in her reality, implying a transcendent connection between worlds.
