Description
Wolfram Zerga emerged from a wealthy London childhood, sheltered until he ventured into the slums. There, he met Harry Smith, a kind but impoverished young man who protected Wolfram from a criminal despite owing money himself. Harry perished in a fire before achieving his dream of winning a Shadowverse tournament. This loss, combined with witnessing widespread suffering, forged Wolfram's seething hatred for the world's inequality. He abandoned his home to travel the globe seeking "justice and equality," gaining fame as a Shadowverse player and winning the World Cup in Harry's memory. His travels only solidified his conviction about global unfairness.

The entity Nexus approached Wolfram, and he became her vessel. However, due to her weakened state, he resisted her control, instead harnessing her power for his own goal of universal equality. He founded Shadowverse Battle College (Shadoba College). Under the guise of protection, he orchestrated the sealing of the Mythical Cards there, a trap intended to later destroy them and prevent opposition to Nexus. Knowing Light Tenryu should have received the eighth Mythical Card three years prior—a destiny blocked by Leon Aurenche—Wolfram personally invited Light, a novice Shadowverse player, to enroll at Shadoba College. He entrusted Light with a deck containing Draconir, implying Light would uncover his fate there.

As one of the Seven Shadows, the world's top Shadowverse players, Wolfram maintained a facade of fairness while manipulating events. He convinced Ryoga Jasei to join the Shadowverse World Ranking by defeating him in a duel, though later expressed disappointment in Ryoga's lack of self-awareness during their rematch. After the Arc Ruler's invasion of Nekome City, Wolfram vanished during the defense. He detonated bombs at Shadoba College to destroy the Mythical Cards, then stole the Arc to revive the Tree of Woe. His plan was to absorb all life energy into the Tree, transforming humanity into equal, bodiless mental entities under Nexus's control.

In his final confrontation with Light, Wolfram revealed Light's stolen destiny and challenged him to a Shadowverse battle to decide the world's fate. Using the Four Knights, Wolfram initially defeated Light and sentenced the world to end. He later accepted a rematch when Nexus's power waned. During this duel, he detailed his plan for enforced equality, but Light's victory—achieved through bonds with friends and DigiFriends—forced Wolfram to realize his true desire wasn't equality, but to smile alongside Harry. After Nexus's dimension collapsed, Light rescued him despite their conflict. Redeemed, Wolfram left the Seven Shadows to return to his family and atone. To his shock and joy, he discovered Harry alive, and they finally played their promised Shadowverse match.

Wolfram lived by the motto "fairness and equality above all," reflected in his actions and leadership. He typically displayed a calm, knightly, and proud demeanor but was prone to explosive rage when defied, particularly when Light failed to meet his expectations. Light interpreted this volatility as unresolved grief over Harry's death, noting Wolfram's worldview had frozen at that moment. He wielded a Swordcraft deck focused on three ace cards that activated effects when revealed in hand, enabling synergies without being played. Enhanced by Nexus, his deck included the Four Knights and Blademasters for a potential one-turn knockout, with a backup "Judgment Deck" featuring powerful followers like Gilteral, Ruler of the Seven Sins, should his initial strategy fail.
