Description
Light Tenryu arrives at Shadowverse Battle College (Shadoba College) as a complete novice, possessing no prior knowledge of Shadowverse. His enrollment stems from an invitation and a pre-loaded Dragoncraft deck gifted by the school's enigmatic founder, Wolfram Zerga, who declares Light has a destiny intertwined with the institution. This package also includes a mysterious memory chip and a Digital Friend named Draconir, who exhibits uncanny sentience and communication abilities yet suffers from amnesia regarding his own origins.

Initially overwhelmed by basic gameplay, Light quickly reveals a core determination and unwavering commitment to promises. He pledges to Itsuki Mitsutagawa, the sole member of the near-defunct "Seventh Flame" Shadowverse club, to prevent its disbandment. This vow propels Light into competitive play and team building. He recruits members—Subaru Makabe, Ren Kazamatsuri, Tsubasa Takanashi, and the elusive "Gentleman" (later revealed as Shion Otosaka)—to solidify the club's roster.

Light's Dragoncraft deck revolves around "Drago Weapon" amulets, which empower followers with enhanced defense and abilities, often visualized through transformation sequences. His skills evolve significantly through victories and defeats. He consistently struggles against Necromancy-based strategies, particularly wielded by Shadowcraft users like Haruma Hazeura and Alice Kurobane. A crushing early defeat by Haruma temporarily shatters his confidence. Guided by Alice's advice and intense training, Light awakens the true power of his ace card, Lævateinn Dragon, securing a rematch victory against Haruma in the Shadowverse Club Tournament finals.

His growth transcends technical mastery, emphasizing emotional resilience and forging bonds through Shadowverse. He persistently seeks to understand rivals like Haruma and Mikado Shirogane (the school principal), focusing on their pain and motivations over mere victory. This approach proves crucial when confronting the Seven Shadows—elite players guarding fragments of Draconir's lost memories. Light competes in the Shadowverse World Ranking tournament to earn the right to challenge them, eventually recovering Draconir's memory data and uncovering a link to the "Arc Ruler," an entity threatening global stability.

The conflict intensifies as the Arc Ruler hijacks digital infrastructure, unleashing destructive "Shade" monsters. Partnering with Draconir, Light journeys to the World Tower and enters a dimensional rift within the Tree of Woe for a final confrontation against Wolfram Zerga. Wolfram reveals Light was destined years earlier to possess the eighth Mythical Card (Arc Ruler's true form), which Wolfram sought to wield to erase human individuality. Light rejects this ideology, championing differences as the foundation of genuine connection. In their duel, he unlocks "True Arms" cards and, bolstered by allies and the Mythical Card itself, defeats Wolfram while extending an offer of redemption.

Throughout his journey, Light maintains an unshakeable belief in partnership and fun as the heart of Shadowverse, transforming from a novice into a catalyst for reconciliation and hope among friends and former adversaries.
