Description
Divock Merte held the title "Weiss Rook" in the Neo-Britannian Empire's Einberg Order during *Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture*. He possessed a large, muscular frame and slicked-back green hair, frequently wearing a fierce, confident expression.
Driven by extreme ambition and a relentless desire for recognition, Merte readily sacrificed innocent lives to achieve his objectives. He openly despised non-Britannians, employing derogatory language and erupting violently when faced with setbacks. Despite his outward confidence, his tactical and combat abilities fell short compared to elite Einberg peers like Narah Vaughn or Christoph Scissorman.
Assigned command of the Damocles sky fortress, Merte orchestrated a plan to annihilate the Sapporo Ghetto with a F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead, aiming to secure his status within Neo-Britannia. This scheme deliberately allowed resistance fighters to escape as part of a trap designed to maximize casualties. However, his overconfidence proved his downfall; underestimating the resistance's resourcefulness enabled them to infiltrate Damocles and plant explosives that crippled its float system. During the ensuing confrontation, Merte piloted his Elcarmal Knightmare Frame—armed with a large cannon, missile pods, and needle-based shield generators—only to be swiftly defeated by Haruka Rutaka of the Seven Shining Stars.
With Damocles crippled, Merte attempted a final suicidal attack, manually deploying the F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead while riding his custom Knightmare carrier aircraft. This effort failed when Ash Phoenix deployed a F.L.E.I.J.A. Eliminator, neutralizing the blast and compressing Merte at the atomic level, making him the weapon's sole victim.
Norland von Lunebelg manipulated Merte's entire operation as a diversion for larger Neo-Britannian strategic goals, rendering him an expendable pawn. His relationships with superiors, such as Narah Vaughn ("Schwarz Queen"), maintained a surface-level respect that dissolved into outright hostility after she abandoned him during the failed mission.
