Description
Keigo Magami is a high school student and classmate of Nico Wakatsuki and Morihito Otogi. His black hair features blue or orange tips in the manga; the anime shows black hair with white tips or occasionally green with blue tips. He has black eyes, stands 176 cm tall, and weighs 62 kg. Keigo favors oversized clothing like long shirts with green pants, chosen to accommodate transformation without damage. Though generally unkempt, he possesses handsome features often obscured by his bangs and lack of self-care.
Introverted and quiet, Keigo struggles with self-doubt and depressive tendencies. He deeply distrusts his own abilities and constantly compares himself unfavorably to his physically superior werewolf alter ego, Wolf. Keigo self-describes as an "annoying subculture nerd," engaging in niche interests like obscure movies, vintage clothing, and music. However, he often pursues trends shallowly to gain popularity rather than from genuine passion, easily influenced by new fads like adopting minimalism after misinterpreting Nemu Miyao's preferences. Despite his insecurities, he demonstrates empathy, kindness, and loyalty, supporting Nemu during her struggles and reaching out to Komugi Kurowa after recognizing his past betrayal in her actions.
His werewolf lineage comes from ancestral heritage, though his parents showed no traits. Wolf, his physically dominant alter ego, awakened three years prior. Keigo transforms into Wolf upon seeing crescent moon-shaped objects, triggering a shift to an aggressive, arrogant personality. He wears a crescent moon bracelet to control this transformation voluntarily. Wolf possesses superhuman strength, speed, and tracking abilities but only obeys Morihito after being defeated by him. Wolf unconsciously assists Keigo and acknowledges his inner strength.
As a child, Keigo was a cheerful, popular figure skater. A car accident during a competition left his mother paraplegic, while Keigo sustained minor injuries. He quit skating partly from guilt and partly fearing his latent werewolf abilities gave him an unfair athletic advantage. Desperate to heal his mother, he accepted a contract with a warlock (the Witch of Enchantment), agreeing to become her familiar in exchange for a cure. This led him to befriend Nico and Morihito under false pretenses, tasked with gathering information to facilitate Nico's capture. After his betrayal was exposed, Morihito defeated Wolf in combat. Nico later healed Keigo's mother with magic, freeing him from the warlock's contract.
Following these events, Keigo became one of Nico's familiars, moving into the Otogi household. Struggling with feelings of inadequacy without Wolf's combat prowess, he trained under Nico to master levitation magic. He adapted this ability by integrating it with figure skating techniques, creating a unique gliding mobility style. Over time, he grew close to the household members, considering them family. He also developed romantic feelings for Nemu Miyao, bonding over shared insecurities, creating a love triangle involving Wolf, who also pursues Nemu. Keigo's relationship with his mother improved significantly after her recovery, and he expressed gratitude for her unwavering support despite his werewolf nature.
