Hoshino Ichika is a high school student and musician from Shibuya, serving as lead vocalist and guitarist for the pop rock band Leo/need. Her name originates from her parents' story, meaning "one song" (一歌), reflecting their meeting through a shared favorite song.
During childhood, Ichika formed close bonds with friends Saki, Honami, and Shiho through stargazing and music. These relationships strained after Saki's hospitalization, leading to limited communication during middle school. Following Saki's return and their visit to the School SEKAI—an alternate dimension born from shared emotions—Ichika gradually reunited the group to form Leo/need, named after the meteor shower they witnessed as children.
Initially listless upon entering high school, Ichika transformed through music into a more courageous and determined individual. She reconnected with her friends, began composing original songs for Leo/need, and practiced street performances to hone her skills.
