Description
AAAAA/Asuma Arima is the younger son of the Arima family, bearing the real Japanese name 有間 明日真. He adopted the Planet VR game username "AAAAA" (あああああ) on a whim. Within Planet, he operates as a top player in the Akabane Family guild.

While Asuma attends school and presents a socially acceptable facade, contrasting his reclusive older brother Taichiro, he feels profoundly isolated offline. His online persona AAAAA embodies confidence, strategic skill, and combat mastery in games like "Kill Ballad," a stark reversal of his reserved real-world self. This divide highlights his reliance on the virtual world as an escape from familial dysfunction and emotional neglect.

The Arima family remains fractured since the death of Asuma's younger sister, Aya. Tensions run deep: Asuma resents Taichiro's seclusion, while Taichiro feels overshadowed by Asuma's perceived success. Unaware initially, their father Kojiro (playing as Shiro) and mother Sayaka/Miyabi (playing as May) are fellow Akabane Family members. A strict guild rule prohibiting real-world identity disclosure prevents recognition. Asuma's connection is accidentally revealed when Taichiro spots the "AAAAA" username on Asuma's screen during a real-life emergency.

A pivotal moment occurs when the game's final boss, the "Black Bird of Happiness," kills Asuma's avatar. This triggers a severe physical and psychological crisis: sparks emit from his VR headset, he collapses, and requires hospitalization. The attack infects him with the Black Bird entity, which blurs game-reality boundaries, induces hallucinations, and threatens players' minds with lethal consequences. This infection nearly kills him, forcing confrontation with the virtual world's tangible dangers.

Following the Black Bird incident and Planet's near-collapse, Asuma evolves significantly. Though he initially expressed hatred for the game and his father's company, he later works for the in-game Granada Company, which has ties to his father Kojiro's operations. This signals a complex reconciliation with his father's legacy and the technology influencing their family. Subsequently, Asuma and Taichiro undertake a pilgrimage to Hokkaido, visiting a Planet-modeled location mirroring a happier family destination. There, they discuss building a workspace and inviting their mother, taking steps to rebuild familial bonds forged through their shared virtual experiences.
