Description
Fukaboshi, the eldest son of King Neptune and crown prince of the Ryugu Kingdom's Neptune Family, is a shark merman. He possesses a muscular build, wavy fair blue hair reaching his shoulders, a sharp nose, and a distinctive dot on his forehead. Gills mark his neck, and his dark blue tail features light blue polka dots. His attire includes a dark garment secured by a long sash and a light blue shoulder band symbolizing royalty. He wields a gold trident.

Serious and responsible, Fukaboshi prioritizes his duties. He personally investigates illegal intruders on Fish-Man Island to deliver Jinbe's message to the Straw Hat Pirates, politely apologizing to inconvenienced mermaids and forgiving those who hid the intruders. He handles crises with reason, like negotiating peacefully with Zoro during the Ryugu Palace hostage situation. Though initially doubting the Straw Hats due to a prophecy, he apologizes to Luffy after witnessing their altruism. His temper surfaces only in extremes, such as brutally punishing Dosun for desecrating his mother's image.

He deeply values family, sharing a close bond with his mother, Queen Otohime, and a protective relationship with his sister, Shirahoshi. After Otohime's assassination, he vows to uphold her ideals of peace between fish-men and humans. Confronting Hody Jones to preserve her legacy, he emphasizes that grudges are illusions perpetuated by the living. He allies with the Straw Hat Pirates after they liberate his family from Hody's forces, forming mutual respect with Luffy, who nicknames him "Brotherhoshi." Fukaboshi perceives Hody Jones and Vander Decken IX as primary enemies due to their coup attempt and threats to Shirahoshi, respectively. He refuses to harbor hatred toward Hody for killing Otohime, honoring his mother's dying wish.

As crown prince, Fukaboshi wields significant authority and ranks among the strongest fighters in the Neptune Army. He showcases formidable strength, effortlessly defeating New Fish-Man Pirates officers like Dosun and aiding in subduing drug-enhanced sea beasts alongside his brothers. He endures severe injuries, including Hody Jones's Kirisame attacks, recovering swiftly. He recognizes Luffy's use of Haki. His combat prowess includes mastery of Merman Gujutsu and techniques like "Ningyo Gujutsu: Koin Assim Ryusui" (a rapid trident strike) and "Ultramarine" (manipulating water into explosive projectiles).

His childhood involved supervising Shirahoshi while Otohime advocated for human-fish-man unity. A pivotal moment occurred when a World Noble threatened Otohime, prompting Shirahoshi to unconsciously summon Sea Kings. Otohime then tasked Fukaboshi and his brothers with becoming strong warriors to protect Shirahoshi. After Otohime's public assassination by Hody Jones, Fukaboshi initially sought revenge but adhered to her final wish to avoid hatred, publicly pledging to continue her work during her funeral.

During the Fish-Man Island Arc, Fukaboshi locates the Straw Hats to relay Jinbe's message but grows cautious after a prophecy foretelling Luffy's destruction of the island. When the Straw Hats occupy Ryugu Palace, he negotiates with Zoro to ensure their peaceful departure. After Hody captures Neptune, Fukaboshi and his brothers confront the New Fish-Man Pirates at Gyoncorde Plaza. Though initially overpowering Hody's forces, they are defeated when officers consume Energy Steroids. Freed by the Straw Hats, Fukaboshi aids Luffy against Hody and apologizes for doubting him. He reveals Hody's hollow hatred—born from societal prejudice rather than personal experience—and implores Luffy to save Fish-Man Island from Noah's collapse. Post-battle, he imprisons Hody and Decken, celebrating with the Straw Hats.

Later, Fukaboshi convinces Shirahoshi to attend the Levely on the surface. During the summit, he prevents her from inadvertently insulting other royals and intervenes when Charlos attempts to enslave her. He expresses intense concern for her safety, advocating for their departure from Mary Geoise, though allies like Mjosgard ensure her protection.
