Movie
Description
Ahn Sangmin serves as chief of the Second Management Department in South Korea's prominent White Tiger Guild, where he leads recruitment and training for new hunters. He attained this leadership role at a young age due to his sharp instincts and substantial contributions to the guild's expansion.
In appearance, he is a middle-aged man with pronounced cheekbones and brown eyes, typically presenting a friendly demeanor. He dresses in formal business attire, reflecting his corporate position within the guild.
His personality is pleasant and highly perceptive, with a distinct talent for recognizing potential in others. He was the first to independently deduce that Sung Jinwoo’s true abilities far surpassed his registered E-Rank status, theorizing correctly—based on Jinwoo’s unexplained survival of multiple high-risk situations—that he had undergone a Reawakening.
His central involvement in the narrative concerns his efforts to recruit Sung Jinwoo into the White Tiger Guild. After discovering Yoo Jinho’s use of significant funds to acquire C-Rank dungeon rights, his investigation led him to Jinwoo. He personally offered Jinwoo a contract worth twice the proposal from Yoojin Construction, but negotiations stalled when Jinwoo expressed interest in the guild’s headquarters—a property valued at 50 billion won, which exceeded his authority to offer without consulting superiors.
Following the unsuccessful negotiation, a one-time arrangement was made in which Jinwoo sold three C-Rank Gates to the guild for 200 million won each. As a gesture of goodwill, Jinwoo also provided a healing potion for a small cut on his cheek, which Jinwoo had inflicted as a subtle act of intimidation. Soon after the transaction, it emerged that no future raid rights had been reserved, leaving the guild with a surplus of unneeded gates. This confirmed he had been outmaneuvered from the start as retaliation for his background check. He received a text from Jinwoo stating the matter was now even. Rather than anger, he felt impressed by the shrewdness of the tactic, seeing it as further proof of Jinwoo’s exceptional qualities. The message also included Jinwoo’s contact information, strengthening his resolve to recruit him in the future.
He is aided in his duties by his deputy, Hyun Kichul, with whom he shared and discussed his theories about Jinwoo’s concealed strength.
