Cory Yee
Description
Cory Yee is a Chinese American voice actor based in Los Angeles, California, known for his work in English dubs of Japanese anime and video games. Born on November 12, 1987, he grew up in Orange County, California, where he developed early interests in video games, animation, musical theater, and improv. Initially viewing a professional acting career as an impossibility due to his heritage, he instead pursued storytelling through filmmaking, attending an intensive course at the Los Angeles Film School. For nearly a decade, he worked in live-action production in various roles, including as a production sound mixer and editor, before transitioning to voice acting. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA and is represented by the CESD Talent Agency.
Yee has built an extensive filmography in anime, often lending his voice to characters with commanding or enigmatic presences. He is well recognized for his role as The Beholder, the mysterious creator and observer in the award-winning series To Your Eternity. In the popular franchise Bungo Stray Dogs, he voices two distinct characters: the vampire nobleman Bram Stoker and the casino owner Sigma. He also appears in the English adaptation of Record of Ragnarok as the Greek god Hermes and as the Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang Di in its second season. His other notable anime credits include Ahn Sangmin in Solo Leveling and Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-, Jin Karasue in Scar on the Praeter, Huan Yi and Yuen in Kingdom, Kinjo in Heavenly Delusion, Kang Horyang in Tower of God: Return of the Prince, Seishu Inui in Tokyo Revengers, and Ash in Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture.
Beyond anime, Cory Yee has a significant presence in video game voice work. He is particularly well-known for voicing the character Gorou in the hit game Genshin Impact, as well as additional roles such as Draff within the same game. His other video game credits include Akito in Ghostwire: Tokyo, multiple characters in Smite such as Toxic Tide He Bo and Malworm Jormungandr, Shaw Han in Destiny 2, Zeiss in Fire Emblem Heroes, and Abyss Lector in Genshin Impact. He has also contributed to live-action dubs, including a role in the English version of the film Godzilla Minus One.
Yee's career is marked by frequent collaborations within the voice acting industry, often working alongside other prominent talents in English dubs directed by companies like Crunchyroll and Funimation. His ability to portray both calculating, powerful figures like The Beholder and Bram Stoker, as well as more grounded characters, has established him as a versatile performer in the industry. In addition to acting, he enjoys streaming, playing video games, and photography.
