Madoraco is a High Ranker within the Tower and the leader of the Grey Catfish Merchant Association, named directly after his sobriquet, "Grey Catfish." He presents as a short man with pale skin, yellow eyes, and distinctive purple or pale pink hair combed backward. Black horns protrude from his head, while large marks near his mouth create the appearance of a permanent smile. His typical attire is a black suit, and he often carries a wand, contributing to a magician-like aesthetic. His personality is defined by greed, manipulation, and a calculating nature. He prioritizes financial gain above all else, engaging in illegal or unethical trade practices and demonstrating a willingness to betray business partners perceived as weaker or when more lucrative opportunities arise. This was evident when he abandoned agreements with Workshop moderators Io and Punk to collaborate with Cassano instead. His alliances frequently involve dangerous individuals or organizations, including FUG. During the Workshop Battle on the 30th Floor, Madoraco approached Workshop researchers Io and Punk with a scheme to profit from tournament viewership through betting, assuring them he would handle any interference from the Workshop director. Concurrently, he sought to acquire the Thorn, an ignition weapon linked to Jyu Viole Grace, for FUG. He later betrayed Io and Punk upon receiving superior information from Cassano, a messenger associated with Reflejo, deploying a dissolving solution to disrupt the tournament. Confronted by the moderators, he effortlessly defeated them, only to be interrupted by Po Bidau Gustang, a leader of one of the 10 Great Families. Recognizing Gustang's intervention and the exposure of his actions via the Archimedes broadcast, Madoraco fled with his subordinates. Following the Workshop Battle, his relationship with FUG deteriorated. He obtained a fragment of the Thorn from the Floor of Death and was rumored to possess another fragment, seeking potential buyers. His merchant operations continued, notably involving the pursuit of the Soul-Stirring Ladle on the 44th Floor using his specialized vessel, the Ghost Ship. This floating castle employs "Invisible Area" technology, rendering it undetectable within its operational range, even to Zahard's Army. In later encounters, Madoraco used the Ghost Ship to cloak Regulars but contemplated looting them due to their vulnerability. This plan was interrupted by the arrival of Karaka, Evankhell, and White. During discussions with Karaka, he revealed his service to the inactive FUG Slayer Pephomemore Seto, whom he referred to as his "God." He also negotiated with Karaka, exchanging information about Baylord Yama's connection to a canine boy named Deng Deng for the Soul-Stirring Ladle. Madoraco's abilities as a High Ranker include significant combat prowess, demonstrated by his effortless defeat of Rankers Io and Punk. His influence stems from his merchant association's resources, particularly the advanced technology of the Ghost Ship.
