Description
Asseylum Vers Allusia, alias Seylum, is the granddaughter of Emperor Rayregalia Vers Rayvers and primary heir to the Vers Empire throne, daughter of Gilzeria, and half-sister of Princess Lemrina Vers Envers. An idealistic pacifist, she advocated Martian-Terran equality and initiated a goodwill visit to Earth in 2014 to ease post-war tensions. Her convoy was attacked when illness spared her; a decoy perished in her place, igniting the Second Earth-Mars War as Vers used the incident to invade Earth. Surviving incognito as "Seylum," she traveled with Earth soldier Inaho Kaizuka's group to reach United Earth headquarters and transmit a ceasefire plea to her grandfather.
Her initial belief that revealing her survival would halt the war faded as she recognized her role as a political pawn for Vers warmongers, particularly the Orbital Knights. Despite disillusionment, she retained compassion—volunteering for combat support, shielding civilians, and demonstrating unexpected physical prowess like overpowering Inaho in hand-to-hand combat. Wartime traumas, including an assault by Rayet Areash who strangled her blaming her for the conflict, hardened her resolve. She later forgave Rayet, accepting responsibility for her actions’ unintended consequences.
Key relationships defined her journey: her childhood bond with Slaine Troyard, an Earth-born Martian she saved years earlier via CPR; her reliance on Inaho during her fugitive period; and her handmaiden Eddelrittuo’s aid in escapes. Romantic feelings for Inaho developed reciprocally but remained unresolved due to political exigencies. After Count Saazbaum shot her in the chest and head, she endured a 19-month comatose stasis on the Moon. Awakening, she discovered Slaine and Lemrina had prolonged the war using her identity, prompting her public denunciation of Slaine’s faction.
To secure peace, she leveraged her royal control of Aldnoah Drive technology—disabling enemy weaponry—and married Klancain, son of Count Cruhteo, consolidating power to isolate Slaine’s forces. This politically strategic, affectionless union enabled Earth’s victory and a new armistice. Post-war, she reflected on her ties to both Slaine and Inaho, embodying her connection to Mars and Earth.
