Description
Koichi Haimawari is a young man with a slim build, brown hair, and brown eyes. His initial vigilante identity was "Nice Guy," later changing to "The Crawler" for greater intimidation, and finally adopting the professional hero name "Skycrawler" in America.

Manifesting his Slide and Glide Quirk unusually early, Koichi floated as a baby before he could walk. His mother used her Fly Swatter Quirk to prevent dangerous floating, potentially suppressing his abilities and causing him to forget he could float. He idolized All Might as a child, often intervening in fights despite lacking combat skills. His aspiration to become a licensed hero ended when he missed the high school entrance exam after stopping to rescue a drowning child; giving the child his All Might hoodie for warmth made him late. Consequently, he attended a regular high school and later studied Hero Sociology in college.

After moving to Naruhata, Koichi rented a cheap penthouse in an abandoned building. A misunderstanding led peers to perceive him as a "creepy guy," isolating him socially. To support himself, he worked as a convenience store clerk and began performing minor good deeds as "Nice Guy," earning public appreciation for acts like returning lost items.

Koichi's vigilante activities intensified after encountering thugs led by Soga Kugisaki. While fleeing them, he warned freelance idol Kazuho Haneyama (Pop☆Step) about police, catching her attention. After Soga assaulted him at work, Koichi donned an All Might hoodie and mask to perform community service. He intervened when Soga threatened Pop☆Step, displaying bravery despite being overpowered. This act attracted Knuckleduster, a vigilante hunting users of the Quirk-enhancing drug Trigger. Knuckleduster defeated the thugs and recruited Koichi and Pop☆Step, forming the Naruhata Vigilantes.

Knuckleduster provided combat training and equipment, advising Koichi to rename himself "The Crawler" for a more imposing image. The trio patrolled Naruhata, combating minor criminals and Trigger-induced "Instant Villains." Koichi initially relied on evasion and basic tactics like leg sweeps but gradually refined his Quirk. His early costume consisted of All Might hoodies with protective motorcycle gear, gloves, and boots, later adding a mask and tinted shades.

Koichi's Slide and Glide Quirk initially allowed him to slide across surfaces using repulsive force from three points of contact, with bicycle-like speeds. Ingenium taught him to brake by applying opposing force, drastically improving speed and maneuverability. He later regained his childhood ability for mid-air jumps and limited flight, enabling vertical scaling and three-dimensional movement. Subconscious reflexes generated repulsive force barriers for protection, honed during battles against foes like the villain Number 6, becoming a hallmark of his "variant fighter" style. He developed projectile attacks dubbed "Shooty-Go-Blam," firing repulsion blasts from his palms adjustable for precision or power, though he consciously limited force against living targets. This evolution stemmed from constant stress during vigilante work; All For One observed his defensive focus and frequent confrontations accelerated the growth.

Koichi is mild-mannered and socially awkward, often misreading cues. He possesses unwavering empathy and courage, refusing to ignore those in need, performing unglamorous acts like trash cleanup without seeking recognition, viewing heroism as a privilege. His admiration for All Might is reflected in his hoodie collection, incorporated into his costume. He initially distrusted Knuckleduster's aggressive methods but grew to respect him. His partnership with Pop☆Step evolved into a deep bond, with Koichi risking his life to protect her. He disliked Captain Celebrity for his arrogance but warmed to him after witnessing his reform efforts. Koichi consistently extends compassion to adversaries, offering help to enemies like Number 6 and Soga.

During the Naruhata Lockdown, Koichi faced Number 6, enhanced by Overclock and Trigger. Their battles pushed his Quirk to new heights, culminating in a high-speed aerial duel where he unlocked sustained flight. He sustained a facial scar from Number 6 but prevailed. Post-conflict, Koichi briefly considered retiring but realized his enduring desire to be a hero. He accepted a sidekick position under Captain Celebrity in America, adopting the name "Skycrawler." Poor English skills led to misunderstandings, such as vowing to "smash Wall Street," garnering controversy. He later returned to Japan following the Final War to aid in reconstruction.
