His design incorporates a Viking-inspired helmet with horn elements and a body of green and black plastic accented with yellow, black, and red paint. Renowned for his physical power, he ranks among the strongest Energy Beasts, rivaling Drillnohorn. Personality-wise, he's a simple straightshooter with a deep distrust of anything bent or curved, believing an individual's intelligence directly corresponds to their number of horns. He remains fiercely loyal to Captain Volca of the Dinosaur Tribe, following Volca's lead even after Volca allies with Megatron and dissolves the boundaries between Animal and Dinosaur Tribes. This allegiance sees Leafback champion Megatron's campaign to conquer Elementros by gathering all Elemental Energy. On Volca's orders, he attacks Optimus Prime and Lightlong to block their Wildocking combination, but is ultimately defeated and sent flying by their combined form, Lightning Optimus. Later, he Wildocks with Megatron (already combined with Volca as Flame Megatron) to become Flame-Grass Megatron, wielding combined Flame and Grass Energies against their foes. Leafback continues serving within Megatron's forces, appearing alongside allies such as Abyssrain when new warriors like Spirituan join. His core ability is Wildocking, enabling combination with Energy Masters like Megatron, typically forming an arm or leg. His Grass Energy manifests as a detachable, leaf-themed breastplate armor piece that attaches to an Energy Master's torso, contributing elemental power to combinations. While he carries no standard weapons, his removable Triceratops tail functions effectively as both a club and a cannon. His core robotic structure shares standardized torso and thigh components common among Energy Beasts.
