Before Takeru Narehira arrives in Denji Heian-kyō, Tsukimiya manifests in his dreams, forging a connection across worlds. She physically inhabits Denji Heian-kyō, an alternate ancient Kyoto blending advanced technology with mystical forces. Her presence shifts from Takeru’s dream visions to concrete reality within this parallel realm.

Upon reaching Denji Heian-kyō, Takeru meets her directly, confirming she exists beyond his subconscious. Moments later, both fall to an Oni emerging from the destructive black mist Yamikaoru during an assault. Their deaths instantly awaken Takeru’s time-leap ability.

Tsukimiya’s demise drives Takeru’s determination to defy fate. He awakens in the past, training under Abe no Seimei to become an onmyoji. His mission: prevent her death in the Yamikaoru attack. Protecting her fuels his mastery of mystical arts and battles against the Oni threats.
