TV Special
Description
Julius, a military pilot, emerges as the lone survivor of a planetary catastrophe where a traveling fossil cloud petrified every inhabitant of his home world—including his wife, Deijya. His survival stems from investigating the cloud in space during the event. Consumed by desperation to acquire a mechanical body for Deijya’s restoration, he steals Tetsuro Hoshino’s Galaxy Express 999 pass to reach a planet offering such technology.
Julius battles Tetsuro physically while fending off fossil bandits attempting to loot petrified victims like Deijya for profit. Though initially adversaries over the stolen pass, Tetsuro allies with Julius against the bandits. Their uneasy truce fractures into a final confrontation as both pursue conflicting righteous goals: Julius to resurrect his wife, Tetsuro to reclaim his pass.
Romantic flashbacks of Julius’s marriage to Deijya underscore his profound loss. His grief-fueled determination drives morally ambiguous actions, casting him as a tragic figure whose motives evoke sympathy despite antagonistic methods. This narrative remains Julius’s sole appearance across all Galaxy Express 999 media.
