Description
Lannion, designated #54294, is a seven-year-old orphan raised at Grace Field House Plant 3 under Isabella’s supervision. Born April 28, 2038, and categorized as an “average-quality good,” he sports light blue eyes, freckles, a gap-toothed grin, and spiky blonde hair resembling an onion shoot. Initially clad in the facility’s white shirt, pants, and brown boots, he later swaps them for an oversized white shirt and black pants post-escape. By 2049, he stands 144 cm tall and attends school in the human world.

A whirlwind of mischief and curiosity, Lannion balances recklessness with resourcefulness. He devises playful inventions—like rope-aided water rockets pivotal to the orphanage escape—and hones archery under Sonju’s tutelage. Though occasionally timid, he masks fears with bravado, prioritizing family above all. His hobbies span pranks, sports, and reading, often partnered with Thoma, his inseparable collaborator.

After uncovering the orphanage’s horrors, Lannion aids the escape by engineering decoys and launching cliff-crossing rockets. He navigates the Promised Forest, shelters in B06-32, and joins the hunt for William Minerva. Reuniting with Norman during the Cuvitidala Arc, he vocalizes admiration for his leadership. Upon reaching the human world, he anxiously awaits Emma’s return, tearfully embracing her two years later despite her lost memories.

Relationships anchor his journey: Thoma mirrors his every move, sharing a near-telepathic bond; Emma earns both reverence as a leader and playful pranks as a sister figure; Ray inspires fierce protectiveness during escapes. Yugo nicknames him “Curry Ingredient,” reflecting his knack for uniting the group through humor and loyalty.

Trivia notes his French-derived name meaning “inventive,” though Isabella quips it references “onion.” Favoring gratin, his American-inspired design contrasts Thoma’s Japanese aesthetics. By 2046, he gains mild weight from excessive milk consumption. Series artist Posuka Demizu counts him as a personal favorite.
