Description
Klaus von Wolfstadt hails from Saxony, a nation akin to Germany within the Western Alliance. Born into an aristocratic family with royal lineage, he has an older brother, parents, and a sister named Claudia. His mother, an accomplished pilot, inspired his own path to becoming an ace pilot, earning him the military callsign "Lycanthrope." He shares a profound bond with Claudia, calling her his "only rose" before permanently departing his homeland.

At age fifteen in 1918, Klaus first encountered Taki Reizen during a visit to Taki's Eastern nation for an imperial ceremony. Separated in a garden, Klaus found nine-year-old Taki beneath a wisteria tree. Taki requested help gathering flowers for his ceremonial headdress, then asked if Klaus would become his knight. This childhood meeting left a lasting mark, though Klaus did not initially recognize Taki years later.

Nine years afterward, Klaus attended Luckenwalde Military Academy in a Western Alliance country. Tasked with protecting and spying on Taki, who was studying tank operations, he gradually recalled their first encounter. Their relationship evolved from mutual respect forged in military training—including a notable back-to-back combat exercise—into romance. Cultural differences sometimes caused friction, but Klaus adapted to Taki's customs. When war led to Taki's deportation, Klaus renounced his citizenship, family, and privileges to follow him as a knight, formalizing their bond during the train journey east.

In Taki's country, Klaus faced discrimination and suspicion as a foreign knight. Their relationship deteriorated under external pressures and internal conflict. Taki, constrained by cultural expectations of celibacy for his imperial role, grew emotionally distant and rejecting. Klaus reacted with frustration and possessiveness, leading to sexually charged confrontations. These included moments of dubious consent, such as one incident where Klaus ignored Taki's physical distress, causing injury. Despite this volatility, Klaus remained unwaveringly devoted, prioritizing Taki's safety and emotional needs above all else.

Klaus demonstrates exceptional combat prowess as a left-handed fighter skilled in hand-to-hand combat, warzone motorcycle operation, and tactical resilience. He endures severe injuries with minimal reliance on medication, partly due to a history of morphine addiction that resurfaced during the war. This addiction began after losing comrades in aerial combat and intensified when he used amphetamines and painkillers to maintain battlefield performance, leading to diminished effectiveness and dependency.

His loyalty faced repeated tests. Suspicions arose about him being a Western Alliance mole, later confirmed, yet his dedication to Taki proved absolute. During a critical mission involving Duchess Theodora of Eurote, Klaus sustained life-threatening injuries. Facing death, he experienced a vision of Claudia but chose to return upon hearing Taki declare him his "one and only knight," signifying their mutual acceptance of the bond despite societal condemnation.

Animal and floral symbolism recurs in his narrative. Klaus is frequently associated with wolves or mad dogs, contrasting Taki's bird and rose motifs. The wisteria from their childhood meeting symbolizes their connection, while roses represent both Claudia and Klaus's enduring devotion to Taki.
