ONA
Description
Lucy is one of the eight main characters in the Ninjala universe. She is a young girl who trains as a student at the World Ninja Association, also known as the WNA. Her default appearance is a punk-rock style, complete with a medical eyepatch over her left eye, a spiked hair scrunchie, and a pair of heavy blue boots. This eyepatch is not merely cosmetic; it conceals a dangerous and immense power hidden within her eye.

Lucy’s background is marked by a traumatic event that reshaped her life. Originally a bright and cheerful child, her dormant ninja abilities awakened when she tried to save a friend from a bully. The power she unleashed caused anything her eye looked upon to twist into nightmarish tentacles, an event that frightened her friends and led to her being called a monster. As a result, Lucy shut herself away from the world, hiding both her talents and herself. At her mother’s request, she was enrolled in the WNA Training School, an experience that helped her come out of her shell and rediscover her true self.

In terms of personality, Lucy is described as energetic, chaotic, and unpredictable. She almost always wears a large, cheerful smile and is known for being loud and charismatic. Her behavior during battles can be intense and borderline feral, earning her the reputation of a wild card among the other ninja. Despite this chaotic exterior, she has a fundamental fear of losing her friends because of her powers, which drives her to train and participate in the Ninjala Tournament.

Lucy’s motivations are shaped by a desire to embrace her abilities and live life on her own terms. After years of hiding, she chose to attend the WNA Academy and compete in the tournament to prove herself and gain control over her strength. Her participation is also a way to connect with others and overcome her past isolation.

Within the story, Lucy is one of the eight original competitors in the Ninjala Tournament and is a central figure in the game’s supplementary content. She serves as the main protagonist of Story Pack Chapter Four, where she teams up with Kappei and Van to race through the ancient ruins of Sphinx Valley. Her relationships are mostly defined by her camaraderie with her fellow ninja students, though her mother plays a pivotal role in encouraging her to join the WNA. While not much is detailed about close friendships, her interactions with Kappei and Van show a willingness to work as part of a chaotic but effective team.

Lucy’s development is one of the more pronounced arcs among the main cast. She transitions from a withdrawn, self-isolating girl into a cheerful and charismatic participant who leans into a loud, crazy persona as a way to reclaim her identity. This transformation is directly tied to her acceptance of her powers and her decision to stop hiding from the world.

Lucy’s notable abilities center on her combat style and her hidden power. She is highly agile and quick on her feet, wielding a yo-yo as her signature weapon. She uses the yo-yo in creative and effective ways for both attack and defense, reflecting her quick thinking and adaptability. The true source of her strength, however, lies in her left eye, which contains a latent power capable of turning what she sees into terrifying, tentacled manifestations. Her eyepatch is necessary to keep this ability contained, and learning to control it is a key part of her personal journey.
