Description
May is a supporting character in BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. She is the elder twin sister of Yui, and the two are always together, making decisions as a pair. In the real world, May and Yui are physically weak and lack muscle, which led them to build their in-game characters around maximum strength so they could move easily. May has a cautious and careful personality, contrasting with her sister's more outgoing nature, though she is also shy. She is a kind and ambitious person who wants to become strong enough to stand alongside Maple and help the guild.
May and Yui are recruited into Maple Tree during the early events of the game, initially hesitating but quickly joining. May's motivation is to support her friends and grow powerful, and she looks up to Maple as a mentor who proved that extreme stat builds are viable. As a member of Maple Tree, she functions as part of the guild's frontline offensive unit, working in close coordination with Yui.
In terms of abilities, May put all of her attribute points into Strength, making her a pure glass cannon. She dual-wields giant hammers and relies on Maple's near-impenetrable defense to reach her targets safely. Because of her extreme stat allocation, she has very low accuracy and defense, but she deals massive damage when she lands a hit. The guild's crafter, Iz, also makes oversized iron balls for her to throw. Over the course of the story, May trains to overcome her low accuracy and develops into a powerful attacker capable of one-shotting bosses during major events. She remains inseparable from Yui, and the two operate as a single tactical unit, providing the guild with overwhelming physical force.
