Light is an enthusiastic middle school-aged gamer with an excited and aggressive personality, causing him to run headfirst into any situation. A self-described city otaku, he prefers a sword as his fantasy weapon of choice.

One late night, he received a mysterious invitation from a strange boy named Alpha, sent on behalf of an individual known as the King. This event transported Light and his friend Yomi to another world, where they learned they had been summoned for a quest to rescue Princess Melody from the demonic lord Maoh. Light embraced this summoning as his destiny and eagerly accepted the mission.

He formed an adventuring party with Yomi and Alpha. As a humanoid robot, Alpha possessed a program that enabled the party to raise their levels gradually as they continued their journey.
