Bud is a hacker and close associate of Eiji Takanaka in Eden City. He demonstrates proficiency in hacking and excels at the space combat simulator "HARD ON," frequently playing with Eiji and their friend Akira. Bud secures employment at Orange, a rival corporation to E=X, and informs Eiji about Orange's development of an independent network called the hypernet, designed to establish a more advanced digital society within Eden.

He joins Eiji in a hacking operation to investigate the deletion of Ryo Narahara's personal information, infiltrating Orange's systems during the mission. This breach triggers security countermeasures and forces them to evade E=X Flagger patrol units. Later, Bud attends Eiji's celebration for joining E=X and witnesses Eiji's intense "HARD ON" gameplay session, where external interference causes Eiji physical distress.

Amid escalating conflict between E=X and Orange, Bud becomes a casualty. Brainwashed by opposing forces, he is compelled to fight Eiji. Despite Eiji's rescue efforts, Bud dies in the confrontation.
