Description
Kaede is the youngest of three sisters from Yamato. She enrolled as an exchange student at Flora Girls' Academy and performs in the unit Konohana wa Otome alongside her sisters Tsubaki and Nadeshiko. They previously performed as BLOSSOMS in Yamato, rebranding after relocating to Waleland and adapting their music to blend traditional Yamato elements with Western rock influences.

She presents a calm and collected demeanor for her age, often expressing annoyance at her older sisters' intense and eccentric behaviors. This leads her to seek reliable older figures for stability. She considers herself the most "normal" sibling. Her interests are reading, fortune-telling—especially fox-based divination—and an affinity for soft, fluffy creatures like foxes. With no foxes near the academy, she frequently pets or hugs her werewolf roommate Salsa, disregarding Salsa's protests about her species. This extends to a general habit of hugging objects or people she likes, showing a "cuddle bug" trait. Despite her composure, she loses restraint when encountering fluffy stimuli like Salsa's fur.

Key relationships include mentorship under Yuzuriha, a former member of the disbanded legendary unit Ray. Her bond with Salsa is an "odd friendship" due to their differing personalities—Salsa being energetic and tomboyish—yet they coexist harmoniously as roommates. Within her family, she shows underlying affection despite frequent exasperation; she exhibits intense worry when Nadeshiko goes missing and later expresses that her sisters' eccentricities feel irreplaceable during an emotional reconciliation.

Her magical abilities involve animating paper talismans or puppets by kissing them to infuse magic, enabling her to enlarge them for transportation or combat support. This reflects Yamato-specific spellcasting traditions. As the least experienced performer in her unit, she dedicates significant effort to daily singing and dancing practice to match her sisters' skill levels.

Character development occurs through familial interactions. Early narratives highlight her resistance to the unit's rebranding and stylistic changes. Later episodes show increased acceptance of her sisters' quirks, culminating in a heartfelt acknowledgment of their bond during a group hug. Her journey illustrates balancing a desire for independence from her family's eccentricities with deep loyalty to them.

Visually, she has fair skin, aquamarine eyes, and short dark hair typically tied with a green bow and accented with orange flowers. Her standard attire is the academy uniform with white socks and black Mary Jane shoes. Her performance outfit features long light-green sleeves with white patterns, a light orange chest bow, black gloves, a black miniskirt, and distinctive black-red-white shoes. Maple leaves often adorn her hair, aligning with her name.
