Description
Rin Suzuki, a second-year student at Kawanuma West High School, combines an intimidating physique and sharp, piercing eyes with unexpected academic and athletic talent. His imposing stature often leads others to keep their distance, leaving him socially isolated except for his steadfast junior-high friend, Ichiro Sato. To counter assumptions about his harshness, Rin deliberately adopts polite speech and a gentle, earnest manner.

Three years before the central storyline, Rin aids art teacher Mayu Matsukaze during her frantic rush to a certification exam—an act she remembers vividly but fails to connect to him when they later reunite at school. Their bond grows through clumsily intimate encounters, such as an awkwardly close train ride, culminating in Mayu impulsively kissing him as he sleeps. This moment ignites Rin’s previously unexplored romantic feelings.

As their relationship shifts from mishaps to mutual care, societal judgment and their age gap test their resolve. They gradually dismantle these barriers, marrying two years after the main events. Post-graduation, Rin assumes leadership of Suzuki Construction, balancing family responsibilities with personal growth.

Rin’s journey traces his battle against isolation rooted in appearance, his unwavering efforts to forge genuine connections, and his tender, evolving bond with Mayu. Reserved yet sincere, he navigates romantic inexperience with quiet determination. His love for hot springs offers solace, while his future role in the family business marks his transition into adulthood—a path defined by loyalty, self-discovery, and the quiet strength to redefine others’ perceptions.
