Description
Boss, a rugged wild field hamster, reigns as the self-appointed chief of the Ham-Hams. Though initially brash and solitary, he opens his burrow as the group’s headquarters after forging ties with Hamtaro and Oxnard. His gruff demeanor masks a protective core, prioritizing the colony’s well-being above all. Equipped with a trusty shovel and helmet, he excels in tunneling yet battles seasickness.

His enduring affection for Bijou fuels persistent but clumsy romantic gestures, often thwarted by her fondness for Hamtaro, sparking bouts of jealousy. When guilt over discouraging Bijou during Hamtaro’s near-departure overwhelms him, he flees on a solitary quest, reemerging incognito as Hero-Ham—a masked vigilante aiding the Ham-Hams under a disguise of sunglasses and a scarf. This alter ego surfaces during pivotal moments, like thwarting a giant caterpillar attack.

The group eventually unmasks Hero-Ham, sparking heartfelt reconciliations. Though resuming his leadership role, Boss periodically dons the cape for covert missions, especially around newcomers like Otome’s Crew, who remain oblivious to his dual life.

Emotional growth softens his edges over time, revealing fleeting attractions to Harmony, Gelato, and Oshare, though Bijou remains his constant. His leadership evolves from stern authority to cooperative guidance, emphasizing unity in disputes.

Later trials against rivals like Otome’s Crew challenge his tactical prowess and loyalty, cementing his transformation from lone outsider to steadfast guardian. Bonds with newer arrivals like Lapis and Lazuli reinforce his role as the Ham-Hams’ anchor, blending resilience with an unspoken commitment to their collective strength.
