TV Special
Description
Originally an angel serving under Pekora in Heaven alongside Poporon, Pino was dispatched to Earth to eliminate Pekora and Poporon after their association with demons branded them fallen angels. Her mission failed when Poporon defeated her, shattering her halo and leaving her stranded on Earth without angelic powers. Fearing divine retribution for this failure, she went into hiding. An unspecified mental illness manifests as severe paranoia and panic attacks, fueling delusions of heavenly forces pursuing her execution. She manages these symptoms with legally obtained antipsychotic medication; the manga depicts actual antipsychotics and tranquilizers, while the anime uses candy pills and an Apex Legends medkit.
Stranded, Pino devised grandiose plans to overthrow God, destroy humanity and the demon realm, and recreate reality under her rule. Awaiting her halo's regeneration to enact these plans, she sought refuge and employment. She secured the groundskeeper position at Yurine Hanazono's apartment complex after the previous groundskeeper moved away. Maintaining this role while laying low, she decorates her modest apartment in a posh lolita style. Her daily life involves tending the grounds, baking, and managing her mental health. She takes immense pride in her baking skills, having won a heavenly contest's grand prize, and views Jashin-chan as a formidable baking rival.
Pino exhibits a complex, contradictory personality. Fundamentally selfish and ruthless, she harbors twisted aspirations of deicide and cosmic domination. Yet her mental instability causes erratic outbursts and extreme distrust, extending even to figures she relies on like Yurine, whom she simultaneously admires and fears. Witnessing Yurine's formidable power, particularly her brutal punishment of Jashin-chan, prompted Pino to focus on cultivating Yurine as an ally. She attempts to win Yurine's favor through kindness and gifts of baked goods, though Yurine remains wary. Pino's delusions intensify during visits from Lierre, her heavenly superior whom she believes is the Abrahamic God. Lierre's television watching triggers Pino's persecution complex, leading her to devise violent "self-defense" plans against Lierre, though they sometimes coexist peacefully.
Her relationships reflect her instability and history. She retains a complicated dynamic with Pekora, her former mentor. Though Pino once intended to murder Pekora, she displays genuine fondness for Pekora's goofy smile when enjoying her baking and feels deep happiness at Pekora's praise, hinting at residual loyalty. Her interactions with Poporon, her former peer, lack overt friendliness, though they share moments of camaraderie observing Pekora's antics or Jashin-chan's misfortunes; Poporon often mocks Pino's mood swings. Pino addresses Jashin-chan politely as "Jashin-san" before being corrected to "-chan," making her the only fallen angel to use Jashin-chan's name directly. She also communicates with animals, including demonic beasts like Beth. Physically, Pino has fair skin, pink eyes, and distinctive pink hair styled in drilled pigtails tied with white bows. She typically wears a white dress with gold details, a matching coat and collar, platform ballerinas, and formerly a golden halo and wings. Standing 1.60 meters tall, she is the tallest of the three fallen angels despite being the smallest in Heaven. She frequently ends sentences with "ですわ" (desu wa).
