Description
Akiko Narumi took over the Narumi Detective Agency and Kamome Billiards Hall after her father Sokichi passed away. She moved from Osaka to Fuuto without knowing of his death until the Dummy Dopant incident revealed the truth. Balancing managerial duties with investigative work, she often clashes with her colleague Shotaro Hidari over their different approaches, such as when she redesigned the agency’s website with a vibrant, feminine style. Her playful and childlike exterior, marked by startled exclamations of "I didn’t hear about this!" and a signature green sandal used for comic discipline, hides sharp deductive intuition that allows her to solve cases others find puzzling. She upholds her father’s protective values and strongly advocates for her clients’ safety. Akiko married Ryu Terui, the covert police officer known as Kamen Rider Accel. Their relationship faced strains due to his secretive work before becoming stronger during Movie War Core, where Sokichi’s spirit symbolically walked her down the aisle. The couple later had a daughter named Haruna, mentioned in Drive Saga: Chaser. Akiko takes an active role in field investigations, briefly taking on Kamen Rider Double’s role during the Nightmare Dopant case to expose the antagonist, and confronting threats like the Puppeteer and Money Dopants despite serious risks. She keeps her maiden name professionally to honor her father’s legacy, though she legally adopted Terui as her surname after the wedding. Her bond with Shotaro matured into a sibling dynamic, leading him to accompany her at her wedding in Sokichi’s place. Across various adaptations, Akiko remains a blend of levity and capability, merging the agency’s traditional grit with a more contemporary approach.
