Description
Murr is the pet cat of Noé Archiviste, a protagonist in the story. Originally the cat of the Shapeless One, Murr has been with Noé since childhood and continues to accompany him into adulthood. He is a large, extremely fluffy white cat with heterochromia, having one light violet eye and one bright blue eye. Around his neck he wears a floppy purple bow with a gem at its center, a detail that mirrors the bowtie Noé wore as a young teen.
Murr’s personality is perpetually irritable. He never shows any emotion beyond annoyance and is frequently seen frowning, even when he allows himself to be held or doted on. He often ambushes others and has been known to scratch even his owner Noé. Despite this constant grumpiness, Murr cares deeply for Noé. He is frequently shown lurking in the shadows, quietly watching over Noé, and is fiercely protective of him. His loyalty is unwavering, and he will act to keep Noé safe if the situation demands it.
Murr’s motivations are simple: he is devoted to Noé and remains by his side through the events of the story. His role is primarily that of Noé’s companion and occasional protector. While he often provides moments of comic relief through his irritable demeanor and mischievous behavior, he can become serious when danger threatens. His relationship with Noé is the central bond of his character; he respects and looks after Noé, even if his outward expression is one of perpetual displeasure.
In terms of development, Murr does not undergo dramatic change. His underlying affection for Noé is consistent, and his protective instincts become more apparent as the story progresses. He remains a constant presence, reliable in his loyalty even when his mood is sour.
As for abilities, Murr is an ordinary cat with no supernatural powers. His most notable trait is his distinctive heterochromatic eyes and his persistent irritable expression. He is not shown to possess any special combat skills or magical abilities within the narrative.
