Description
Chloé d'Apchier, born into the noble d’Apchier lineage, was once human until her transformation at age four during the Babel Incident trapped her eternally in a child’s form. Her family staged her death and confined her to their estate, concealing her vampiric nature as centuries of their World Formula research twisted from seeking a cure to pursuing political dominance, breeding generations that scorned her isolation.

Residing in Gévaudan’s Silver Forest, she became known as the Silver Witch. Her early alliance with August Ruthven, a vampire scholar, led her to care for Jeanne, a young Bourreau, forging a sisterly bond that spurred Chloé’s first defiance of her family’s seclusion. Decades later, discovering Jeanne’s enslavement and Ruthven’s betrayal, their friendship shattered in violence.

As vampire hunts surged, the Catholic Church masked killings with the Beast of Gévaudan myth. Chloé sheltered Jean-Jacques Chastel, a vampire child abused by his parents, only to witness his sacrifice of his True Name to Naenia, transforming him into the Beast. When Jeanne, misled by the Church, sought to kill her, Chloé attempted suicide—a act halted by Naenia, who bargained survival for vengeance. Accepting, Chloé bore the Malnomen Millie, Theater of Ice and Snow, manifesting enclosed realms replicating her memories, first within the forest, then engulfing Gévaudan. These spectral echoes of her past moved solely by her perceptions.

A kiss from the resurrected Vampire Queen Faustina amplified Millie’s power, granting Chloé gravitational control, mist-like transformation, and wolf familiars—abilities that eroded her sanity, driving self-destructive rampages until Vanitas intervened, amplifying his Book’s power via his Mark of Possession to sever Millie’s curse, tethered uniquely to her will.

Bound by her father’s teachings on noble duty, Chloé clung to protecting Gévaudan’s people even as vengeance consumed her. Her failed trap to kill Naenia, avenging Jean-Jacques’ corruption, epitomized her conflict: a centuries-old vampire torn between loyalty to her domain and fury at those who wronged her.

Resembling a silver-haired child with pale skin and piercing gray eyes that crimson like her kin, Chloé’s demeanor contrasts her youthful guise with austere maturity. Her abilities blend vampiric strength, energy manipulation, and mastery of the World Formula Alteration Device—a family creation rewriting reality, capable of summoning entities like Naenia or Faustina.

Her relationships reveal duality: fiercely protective of Jean-Jacques, whom she called her “one and only,” yet ruthlessly vengeful toward Naenia. Interactions with Vanitas and Jeanne during Gévaudan’s crisis exposed her desperation to end her torment while securing Jean-Jacques’ freedom, culminating in their aid to shatter Millie’s curse.
