Description
Maria owns and operates Maria's Bar on the Mediterranean island of Corcaca, residing alone after conflicts over the rumored Hemingway Papers treasure caused her village's desertion. A decade ago, treasure hunters flooded the island, followed by a violent takeover that prompted widespread abandonment. She remains the sole known survivor of the Scorpions, a liberation front formed by native islanders to resist treasure hunters and protect their homeland. Her brother founded and led the Scorpions until his assassination seven years ago, alongside most members, during a failed rebellion against Carlos and Consano.
