Sakura is Anzu's mother and the childhood friend of Naozumi Tsuchida, approximately one year his senior. She married her art teacher during high school and became pregnant with Anzu. This led her to drop out shortly before graduation, with only one term remaining, when her husband accepted a position at an American university, prompting their move to the United States.

Physically, she possesses blonde hair and blue eyes, featuring a distinctive, wild strand of hair that protrudes upward – a trait passed on to Anzu. Sakura exhibits an energetic and determined personality, actively encouraging Anzu's aspirations to marry Tsuchida. This support mirrors her own experience pursuing a relationship with her former teacher. Her enthusiastic, persistent nature is reflected in Anzu, along with a strong sense of conviction in advocating for her beliefs.
