Description
Jin Tadokoro, nicknamed "The Bear," channels his imposing frame and tenacity into cycling despite early setbacks. Struggling with endurance races in middle school, he nearly quit Sohoku High’s team after repeated defeats and a training camp dropout, hindered by his size during climbs. A pivot to sprinting under captain Toji Kanzaki’s mentorship unlocked his potential, emphasizing mental resilience over physical limitations, earning him an Inter High spot by his second year.

His bold persona masks layered sensitivity. Loud rivalries with Shoukichi Naruko and boasts about sprinting prowess contrast with nurturing gestures—coaching juniors Junta Teshima and Hajime Aoyagi on nutrition, offering emotional support during defeats, and reluctantly embracing humorous moments like anime karaoke or maid café encounters.

Tadokoro’s racing thrives on unique physiology and tactics. An 8,500cc lung capacity fuels his "Mach Speed Oxygen Human Bullet," delaying lactic fatigue for prolonged sprints. He strategically conserves energy, shields teammates from wind resistance on climbs, and claims victories at the Bay Coast Criterium and Shoreline Criterion.

Key conflicts test his growth. Witnessing Hakone Academy’s Juichi Fukutomi injure teammate Shingo Kinjou during the 40th Inter High sparks a fistfight and lingering bitterness. Fukutomi’s later apology and Kinjou’s composure guide Tadokoro toward reconciliation. At the 41st Inter High, he races while secretly ill, prioritizing pride over health. Post-graduation, he joins Tukushiba University’s cycling team, stays connected to former teammates, and attends events like an Akihabara group outing where peers honor his legacy.

Off the bike, he devours Sengoku-era games and history documentaries, obsessively masters kendama to avoid defeat, and savors honey-drenched tempura rice and hidden seafood-meat onigiri. Family ties surface through bakery deliveries to teammates, while quirks like hoarding VHS tapes and theatrically recycling bottles via his "Rampaging Human Bullet Vacuum" round out his eccentric charm.
