Description
Miki Kanzaki is a third-year student and manager of the Sohoku High Bicycle Racing Club. Growing up surrounded by bicycles at her family's Kanzaki Cycle Shop, she developed extensive mechanical knowledge and assists there outside of school, fueling her deep passion and expertise in cycling despite not being a competitive racer herself.

She possesses brown eyes and long, straight brown hair reaching her waist, typically styled with bangs. Her slender frame is average height. Her standard attire is Sohoku High's uniform: a green jacket over a white blouse, a white-and-red striped ribbon, a red-and-yellow plaid skirt, black socks, and brown loafers. During competitions like the Inter High in Hakone, she wears a pink polo shirt, white skater skirt, and sometimes a light blue visor.

Miki's personality blends kindness, supportiveness, and perceptiveness. She readily reaches out to offer guidance and encouragement to club members, exemplified by her interactions with Sakamichi Onoda. A self-proclaimed "bike otaku," she becomes animated and talkative discussing bicycles, remaining unfazed by others finding this unusual. Her best friend, Aya Tachibana, notes Miki often seems distracted unless cycling is the topic. A playful mischievous streak surfaces when she reminds seniors of past statements or teases friends gently. Her keen observation focuses on bicycle mechanics and club members' physical or emotional states, like noticing Shunsuke Imaizumi favoring one leg. During races, she adopts a solemn, focused demeanor, especially during team challenges, firmly defending Sohoku against criticism while maintaining composure.

Her relationships are clearly defined. She shares a positive rapport with her older brother Toji Kanzaki, a former club captain and current shop manager. As childhood friends with Imaizumi, she occasionally teases him but acknowledges his growth since joining the club. Her close friendship with Aya persists despite Aya's disinterest in cycling; Aya critiques Miki's distraction yet remains protective, attending competitions. Miki consistently supports Onoda, adjusting his bike seat during his first race, providing him with a road racer, and cheering him on. She interacts warmly with most club members, though she reacted sharply once to Shoukichi Naruko's comment about her appearance. Privately, she admires Terufumi Sugimoto's perseverance despite outwardly ignoring his bravado.

Miki's surname, Kanzaki, combines the characters for "cold" (寒) and "blossom" (咲), while her given name, Miki (幹), means "stem" or "trunk." Her role centers on fostering team cohesion through her mechanical skills, observational insights, and unwavering encouragement.
