Description
Petit Charat, universally known as Puchiko, hails from the planet Di Gi Charat. Newer media identifies her as the younger sister of Di Gi Charat (Dejiko), while earlier narratives depict a different origin: Puchiko began following Dejiko out of gratitude after being rescued from a hole. As a princess of her homeworld, she lives in the royal castle with her family, including her parents (the King and Queen), Dejiko, and extended relatives such as cousins Mike Charat and Rinna Charat.

Puchiko appears approximately 6 years old in most continuities, though she is shown as 5 in the pilot. She possesses long brown hair, dark brown eyes, and signature cat-themed accessories: an orange tabby cat ear hat and a matching tail adorned with a blue ribbon. Her standard outfit is a sailor uniform featuring white fabric, a dark sailor tie and skirt, and green accents, worn barefoot. This design briefly changed in 2008 to feature green eyes and a light green preschool uniform, reverting in 2013. In *Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat*, she dons a distinct red dress, dark blue pants, orange shoes, and two bells with red bows in her hair. For *Di Gi Charat Nyo!*, her attire shifts to a light blue dress with a white underdress and light blue tie. The *Winter Garden* OVA ages her to 15, depicting increased height and her original uniform paired with white socks and black shoes.

Her personality embodies stoicism and reserve, starkly contrasting Dejiko's energetic nature. Puchiko rarely speaks but reveals a sharp tongue when provoked. She maintains calm during situations that cause panic in others and shows a fascination with occult phenomena. Though anger is uncommon, intense frustration or provocation—like being tricked—can unleash her "Me Kara Beam" ability. Her reserved temperament inherently limits her capacity for the aggression needed to effectively wield this power.

Puchiko wields the "Me Kara Beam" (めからびーむ), an eye-based laser attack similar to Dejiko's. Her proficiency is hampered by her docile nature, frequently causing unintended or ineffective discharges, such as emitting sludge instead of a coherent beam. This inconsistency directly stems from her struggle to access the necessary anger and aggression. In *Di Gi Charat Nyo!*, her ability is formally designated as "Eye Beam in training."

Her journey takes her to Earth with Dejiko and their guardian Gema, where they work at a Gamers store in Akihabara. In *Di Gi Charat Nyo!*, Puchiko and Dejiko travel to Earth for princess training but become accidentally separated. Puchiko resides at the Ankorodo Cake Shop while Dejiko stays elsewhere. They communicate using "Mystery Phones" and later attend a "Princess School" where Dejiko's mother serves as principal. The *Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat* storyline follows an 8-year-old Dejiko, Puchiko, and their friends Meek and Rinna on missions to spread happiness across their home planet, opposing antagonists Piyoko and Deji Devil.
