Description
Gallagher leads the Death Metal Empire as its primary antagonist. Originally Marcellus (Mimigar), he adopted the name Gallagher before changing it to Gigaboss to signify his supreme authority. His past intertwines with Quade (Bacon); both trained under the same master as youths, becoming skilled Zoid Seekers. Their paths split over ideology: Gallagher craved dominating power, while Quade cherished simpler pleasures. Resentment festered in Gallagher, fueled by Quade often outperforming him in their youth, driving his relentless pursuit of ever-mightier Zoids.
His leadership blends eccentricity with ruthlessness. Commanding the Four Dark Warriors and a vast army, Gallagher frequently mixes crucial military objectives with bafflingly trivial orders—sending subordinates to parties or games—confusing followers like Drake. This unpredictability veils his brutal strategy, including sacrificing underlings and their Zoids to feed his primary Zoid, Death Rex. Gallagher possesses formidable combat skill, demonstrated early on when he effortlessly defeated opponents like the Wild Liger using only a Gilraptor, without Dark Blast enhancements.
Gallagher's long rivalry with Quade culminates in a decisive episode 13 battle. Gallagher steals half the hacker key needed to control Death Rex, leading to a fight where Quade dies after giving the remaining key half to Arashi. Gallagher also manipulates Drake, one of his Four Heavenly Kings, consistently undermining him with conflicting orders that sabotage Drake's missions to capture the Wild Liger.
His signature Zoid is the Death Rex, an exceptionally aggressive Tyrannosaurus-type excavated by the Empire from volcanic terrain. This Zoid demands constant sustenance, consuming other Zoids so voraciously it drastically depletes Wild Zoid populations. Gallagher manages its violent nature through confinement and regular feedings of captured raptors or defeated foes. In the finale, Gallagher pilots Death Rex against Arashi and Drake. Losing control of the berserk Zoid, both plummet into a volcano. Facing death, Gallagher rejects a spectral Quade's offer of help, choosing destruction over redemption.
