Description
Kasumi is an artificial intelligence eagle drone designated AMD01, created by robotics scientist Allen Isurugi. She forms part of a trio of robotic animal companions with Oboro (AMD02, a dog) and Madara (AMD03, a flying squirrel).
Developed to assist Allen's family, Kasumi provides flight-enabled surveillance and support. She witnessed the attack on the Isurugi household orchestrated by Allen's former colleague Lauren, who sought to steal his research. During the assault, Kasumi and the other drones facilitated the escape of Allen's daughter, Rikka Isurugi, after her father and grandfather were killed.
After adopting the alias "Lily," Rikka trained as a detective while seeking vengeance. Kasumi remained her constant companion, offering aerial reconnaissance and operational support during missions. She aided Rikka in infiltrating facilities linked to the attackers, gathering intelligence, and navigating urban environments.
Kasumi demonstrates a protective relationship with Rikka. She notably intervened with the other drones to stop Rikka from killing Mia—a telekinetic girl controlled by Lauren—upon discovering Mia's involuntary role in the attack. This intervention led Rikka to spare Mia and secure her safety.
Kasumi supported Rikka during the confrontation with Lauren, who had augmented himself with experimental psychic abilities. After Rikka embraced her ninja heritage and activated the cybernetically enhanced "Black Fox" suit created by her family, Kasumi continued assisting in neutralizing threats. Her capabilities complemented the suit, particularly during the climactic battle where Rikka freed Mia from Lauren's control.
Kasumi and the other drones remain active participants in Rikka's ongoing mission to confront Brad Ingram, the president of Gradsheim and mastermind behind the attack on her family.
