Description
Hakurou is a male Ogre over 300 years old, standing 155 cm tall. He served as the martial instructor and strongest swordsman of the Ogre royal guard, earning the epithet "Sword Ogre." His heritage includes human ancestry through his grandfather, the human master swordsman Byakuya Araki. Hakurou lived three times longer than the typical Ogre lifespan of 100 years before evolving.

Initially appearing as an elderly Ogre with silver hair, subtle silver-tinted skin, and two ivory-like horns, he wore traditional robes and a scarf covering his mouth. After being named by Rimuru Tempest, he evolved into a Kijin, regaining a middle-aged appearance in his prime. His horns shrank, his facial structure sharpened, and he grew a silver goatee. His attire shifted to a white overcoat, sometimes with a scarf.

Typically calm and analytical, Hakurou possesses a spirit younger than his age. He is notoriously strict as a combat instructor, emphasizing martial arts over innate skills and punishing laziness with increased training. He reacts sharply to being called "old man," often threatening consequences, and enjoys bonsai cultivation. After discovering he has a daughter, Momiji, with the tengu Kaede, he becomes doting and overprotective, actively encouraging her relationship with Benimaru.

His legendary swordsmanship prioritizes technique over strength or magicule capacity. He founded the Hazy Style (Oboro-Ryu), featuring techniques like Flowing Water Slash and Instant Light Slash. His ultimate move, Double Cherry Blossoms - Eight Petals Flash, delivers eight instantaneous cuts. He wields a Legend-grade cane-shaped katana named Samegumo. After being named, he gained enhanced abilities including Thought Acceleration (accelerating perception 1,000-fold), Ultra Acceleration, Future Prediction, and the Unique Skill Martial Master. This skill incorporates Heavenly Eye, allowing him to sense magical flows and predict movements. He also possesses Mana Perception, Multilayer Barrier, and resistances to spiritual attacks and abnormal conditions.

As Rimuru Tempest's chief military instructor, he trains warriors, executives, and Rimuru themselves. His teachings in Battlewill techniques, particularly Formhide, proved crucial in life-threatening situations. He previously trained Gazel Dwargo, the Dwarf King, 300 years ago and mentors characters like Gobta and Youm Farmenas, pushing them to reach their potential.

His background includes surviving the destruction of his village alongside other Ogre survivors. After encountering Rimuru, he and the group formed a temporary alliance, leading to their naming, evolution, and permanent allegiance. Hakurou serves as a military adviser and occasional commander within the Jura-Tempest Federation. His development centers on transitioning from a secluded warrior to a dedicated mentor and family-oriented figure, balancing his duties with newfound paternal affection.
