Description
Manon, also known as Mairin, is a beginner Pokémon Trainer from Kalos. She has light brown eyes, red hair, and wears a distinct outfit: a green hat with orange triangles, a yellow scarf, a yellow shirt, a light green cloak, long dark green pants with light green accents, brown suspenders, gray socks, and brown shoes. A small bracelet adorns her right wrist.
Her personality blends enthusiasm with clumsiness; she frequently trips or falls while traveling. Manon exhibits a forceful determination, declaring herself Alain's companion despite his objections and persistently following him. She expresses deep concern for Alain's safety, questioning his involvement in dangerous situations. This caring nature extends to her Pokémon, especially her Chespin, nicknamed Chespie, which often rescues her from accidents using Vine Whip. Their journey takes them to Hoenn, where she meets Steven Stone and witnesses clashes involving Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, and Rayquaza. Alain frequently tries to leave her behind for safety, but she persistently follows, even sneaking onto planes.
A turning point occurs at Lysandre Labs when Alain again rejects her companionship. Upset, she asks Chespie for space, leading the Pokémon to wander into a lab experiment. Chespie rescues a Zygarde Core but is exposed to a surge of energy, falling into a life-threatening coma. Devastated, Manon tearfully begs Lysandre for assurances of Chespie's recovery. She halts her travels, remaining at the lab to care for Chespie, unaware its recovery depends on Alain aiding Lysandre's plans.
Later, while shopping in Lumiose City, she encounters Clemont's lost Chespin. Returning it triggers her grief over Chespie's condition, causing her to cry before composing herself. She watches Alain compete in the Lumiose Conference, hopeful that Lysandre's promised Mega Evolution energy will cure Chespie. After witnessing Lysandre's true intentions during his global broadcast, she questions his motives and is rescued from a Team Flare grunt by Professor Sycamore. She joins Sycamore and Serena to retrieve Chespie from Lysandre Labs, but Chespie is absorbed by the Giant Rock, transforming into a Zygarde. Chespie is eventually freed by Alain and Ash, awakening after the Giant Rock's destruction. Relieved and overjoyed, Manon accepts Alain's apology for his past behavior, emphasizing his safety as her primary concern.
