Yamato Mikoto hails from the Far East, orphaned as a child. Takemikazuchi and Tsukuyomi raised her in their orphanage, where she formed a deep familial bond with Kashima Ouka and Hitachi Chigusa. Mikoto frequently joined others in smuggling Sanjouno Haruhime out of her mansion to play, persisting even after Haruhime's father severed support for the shrine. This defiance contributed to Haruhime's disownment. Seeking funds for the shrine, Mikoto journeyed to Orario with the Takemikazuchi Familia, reaching Level 2 shortly before meeting Bell Cranel. Mikoto embodies seriousness and honor, rejecting cowardly tactics like the Pass Parade strategy. Fiercely loyal yet humble, she often understates her abilities. Her honesty makes her an ineffective liar, mirroring Bell Cranel. She finds solace in cypress baths or hot springs, adhering to a specific pre-bathing ritual. Trained by Takemikazuchi, Mikoto mastered multiple martial arts and weapons: katanas, spears, axes, bows, short swords, and throwing weapons like shurikens and kunai. She employs judo effectively against human opponents. Though proficient in ninjutsu, she avoids its deceptive nature, reserving it only to protect loved ones. Her signature techniques include the Mikazuchi throw (derived from the Frankensteiner) and the Zekka quick-draw, named after her alias. She performs Concurrent Chanting, casting magic while in motion. Her magic, Futsunomitama, generates a gravity dome capable of trapping powerful foes like the Black Goliath. Her skills are Yatanokurogarasu (detecting encountered monsters) and Yatanoshirogarasu (locating Familia members). Her Abnormal Resistance development ability negates effects like poison. She wields the katana Kotetsu and the short sword Chizan—part of a set symbolizing her promised reunion with Takemikazuchi. Former weapons include the destroyed Shinonome and Zansetsu. Guilt over the Pass Parade led Mikoto to temporarily join the Hestia Familia for the War Game against Apollo, planning to return within a year. She deeply respects Bell Cranel, obeying his commands and supporting his decisions to rescue Haruhime and protect the Xenos. Her relationship with Takemikazuchi evolved from paternal respect to romantic love. She cherishes his vow: he keeps the paired short sword Tenka, promising to reunite it with her Chizan when she rejoins his Familia—a moment she intends for her confession. Mikoto's bond with Haruhime remains central; she risked self-destructive magic during Haruhime's rescue from the Ishtar Familia, actively protects her in the Dungeon, and treasures her smile. Despite Familia separation, she fights seamlessly alongside Ouka and Chigusa, reluctantly following Ouka's orders like the Pass Parade. She aids Chigusa's unsuccessful attempts to express feelings for Ouka. Hestia initially resented Mikoto for the Pass Parade but later accepted her, praising her cooking and supporting her romantic pursuits. Mikoto has reached Floor 37 in the Dungeon. Haruhime's level-boosting magic temporarily elevated her to pseudo-Level 3 during expeditions, enhancing her physical capabilities and magic efficacy. Her Level 2 status parameters were Strength G279, Endurance G255, Dexterity F334, Agility G298, and Magic H149.
